The IEEE Global Communication Conference (GLOBECOM) is one of the IEEE Communications Society’s flagship conferences, so we simply couldn’t miss it. Our speaker Prof. Dr. Robert Schober (IDC), together with partners from Munich, Dresden, and Braunschweig, gave a Tutorial on “Molecular Communication Integrated into Future Communication Systems” and moderated an Industry Panel (“Consolidating Technological Capabilities and Industry Expectations: A Perspective on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces”). Dr. Sebastian Lotter (P10) and Dr. Maximilian Schäfer, in collaboration with partners from Berlin gave a tutorial on “Internet of Bio-Nano-Things – Challenges and Networking Solutions” and Lukas Brand presented the groups latest work on „Semantic Information in MC: Chemotaxis Beyond Shannon“ during one of the Symposium Technical Sessions. Moreover, the media modulation testbed developed by Maike Scherer (BVT) and Lukas Brand (IDC) was presented to a wider audience at one of the 6G exhibition stands and was very well received. All in all, this was a very successful and interesting time for our representation in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa.
